Make Android-controlled Car with Andy-Shield

I designed new PCB(Arduino shield) to make Android-controlled robot more simply and cheap.

And the name of this shield is "Andy-shield".

On this board,there are 2 channels of DC motor driver and Bluetooth module.Also,RC Servo connectors.Of course it's compatible with Arduino Shield connector.

At first,this idea(Andy-shield) was sprang up at the "meeting for Robotics" of Kobe branch,Japan Android Group.Then we discussed about it.

The points of this PCB are;

 - Compatible with Arduino shield connector.Just attach Arduino Uno/Duemilanove and go.

 - Designed to fit with "GoodLuckBuy BT module".This module is very very cheap.Only US$6.56 including shipment.

 - Made the PCB size intensionally larger to mount gear box or battery directly.So, plastic basis or something like that is NOT needed to build this car.

To control crawler by Arduino from Android device

I am a member of Japan Android Group Kobe branch.
Japan Android Group is one of the community-based group that is not only for software designers'.,
but also for graphic/web designeders,music composers,phone users and various kind of people interested in Android platform.


And for me,I entered it to learn development around Android platform.
(I'm engineer for embedded systems)


By the way,recently,we're talking about making crawling car toy that is controllable from Android Phones via Bluetooth Serial port profile.
I am interested in sort of smart phones and electronic handicrafts as well,so I also discussing about it.

And the name of the crawler is Andy.


The system of this Andy is quite simple,the main controller is Arduino,and motor driver TOSHIBA TA7291P(we can buy it at Akizuki-denshi in Akihabara-town.2 pcs JPY300).
